Mann Heads Home To Qld For Signature Events
4/01/2010 7:11:45 AM - PWM Media

With the East Coast Pipelines Speedweek portion of the 2009/10 Performance Wholesale World Series Sprintcars Championship completed and in the books, Bryan Mann heads home to Qld this week for two signature events at Brisbane International Speedway; the Capalaba Wreckers Sprintcar Cup and Round 9 of the Performance Wholesale World Series Sprintcars Championship which doubles as the Titan Garages Australian Sprintcar Open.

Both events are important for Bryan given the close relationships and lengthy associations that the naming rights sponsors of these events have with the Performance Wholesale Motorsport team.

Capalaba Wreckers have been a long time supporter of Sprintcar racing in Australia, fielding cars for a number of drivers through the years including Australian Champion Garry Brazier and they continue to support Bryan and a number of other Qld and interstate based teams despite scaling back their own racing operation. On Wednesday night, Brisbane International Speedway will host the first ever Capalaba Wreckers Sprintcar Cup, an event that will pit Bryan against a stellar field of over thirty American and Australian drivers chasing the $10,000 winner's purse.

Likewise, Performance Wholesale has been at the forefront of both team and event sponsorship in Australia for a number of years, including the naming rights to this season's World Series Sprintcars Championship, and the company's involvement with Australian Speedway so far has been significant to say the least.

PWM team principle and owner of Performance Wholesale Bill Mann through his company and American parts supplier contacts has also been the driving force behind the very successful Qld Sprintcar Summer Shootout, Comp Cams and Qld Speedway Spares Championship Series in Queensland over the past ten years. These events have helped give a number of drivers, including Bryan, a chance on both the local and national stages.

Bryan returns to Qld buoyed by his Speedweek results and content in the knowledge that the team qualified for the A-Main at each of the five events over the past week. They only failed to finish one Feature race during the period, a flat right rear tyre cutting short their run at Mt Gambier in South Australia, and Bryan remains firmly in the top five in the Driver standings after eight of the fourteen Rounds of the Championship.

So it's back to Archerfield for three important nights of racing on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday this week. It's familiar ground for the team, it's their home track and the #16 Capalaba Wreckers/Qld Speedway Spares J&J has been to victory lane there already this season. Only time will tell if they get to do it again, but they'll certainly be there doing the best job they can against the best in the business with the welcome support of some very well credentialed backers.
