Solid Start To Speedweek For Mann
28/12/2009 4:41:42 PM - PWM Media
It's been a solid and satisfying start to the East Coast Pipelines Speedweek portion of the Performance Wholesale World Series Sprintcars Championship for Bryan Mann with consecutive top ten finishes in the opening two events in South Australia over the past two nights.
Qld based Mann travelled to Adelaide on Boxing Day for the opening night of Speedweek, strapped himself into the #16 Capalaba Wreckers/Qld Speedway Spares J&J and set eighth quick time in a field of forty-two starters at Speedway City. Bryan went on to finish seventh and fifth in his Heat races to qualify for the Top 8 Shootout, posting the seventh quickest time in that portion of the program to start the A-Main from position seven.
It was a similar story at Murray Bridge Speedway the next night, Bryan again timed in well (8th quick) and ran well in his Heats to qualify straight up for the thirty-five lap Feature event.
"Both nights we've had a good run, the car has been fast and nice to drive and we've been able to run up there with some of the really good drivers that are chasing the Championship with us." commented Bryan.
"At Speedway City we had a good race going with Kerry (Madsen) and Danny Smith for a while and then with Jamie Cobby at the end to bring the car home in 8th spot. At Murray Bridge we got a good start in the Feature and moved forward quite a few spots early on and ran most of the race in about sixth I think before we dropped a spot on the last lap." he added.
Bryan's results over the past two night have moved him into fifth position in the overall Performance Wholesale World Series Sprintcars Championship after five Rounds, and has him placed sixth in the Speedweek standings heading into night number three at Mt Gambier in South Australia this evening.
