Bryan Mann Eighth In Points After Two Rounds Of World Series Sprintcars
30/11/2009 5:49:52 PM - PWM Media
Two Rounds into the 2009/10 Performance Wholesale World Series Sprintcars Championship and Bryan Mann has put back to back top ten finishes together to be placed eighth in Series points at this early stage of the national trail, something the Qld driver is reasonably happy about as he prepares for Round 3 in Sydney this weekend.
"Not a bad start to the Series for us" is how Bryan summed up the first two Rounds of the Championship.
"We qualified straight up for both the race in Brisbane and again in Toowoomba on Saturday night which is pleasing, especially given the field of drivers at both races."
Starting from the fifth row of the grid for the night's thirty lap A-Main event, Bryan brought the #16 Capalaba Wreckers/Qld Speedway Spares J&J home in tenth spot after racing through much of the Feature with Danny Reidy and Grant Anderson.
"We might have been just a touch off with the set-up on the weekend, the car was as fast as the other guys around me in the race but not quite fast enough to get by them. Seemed like we could get ourselves in a position to make a pass but couldn't quite get it done though. Racing like that can get a little frustrating sometimes but I guess that's how it is when you're racing with the best in the country every week. We'll take the points and head to Sydney for the next Round of the Series next weekend" Bryan added.
After not competing at Parramatta City Raceway at all during last season, Bryan is looking forward to the opportunity of taking to the track again at arguably one of Australia's best Speedways.
"I think we've only ever raced in Sydney maybe half a dozen times in the past but I've always enjoyed the track down there. Timing in will be crucial at Parramatta, especially as they have a pretty high car count at all their races, and it will be pretty tough just to make the field with fifty or sixty cars there. Should be a lot of fun though, the boys and I are really looking forward to racing there on Saturday night."
Following the Parramatta Round this weekend, Bryan and the Performance Wholesale Motorsport team will return to Brisbane for Round 5 of the Qld Speedway Spares Series in Brisbane on December 12, their final race before Christmas. The team will resume racing in Adelaide on Boxing Day, the first night of the annual Speedweek portion of the World Series Sprintcars Championship.
